Remembering you, Gonz

Gonz!

It it is still hard to believe you're not here. The nearly 20 yrs we knew you went by so fast, but you gave us SUCH wonderful memories! We have your photo nearby to think of you, of your last visit with us. :-)

Your hearty laughs were extremely contagious...I think that is one of the things I miss most about you! ;-D And your endless, "discussions" with Bake, where you two would forever interrupt each other...I never did get to make good on my declaration that I would tally how many times either of you would interrupt each other mid-sentence!

Bake considered you his best friend, and you were my dear friend as well: my ally, big brother, advisor, laugh partner, everything in between...hubby thought you and I were like two peas in a pod cuz we had so many things in common. ;-)

But there's no replacing you. People aren't replaceable, and certainly NOT you. We miss you very much.

You were truly the ULTIMATE friend anyone could ever hope for: flying cross-country just to see us every year -- whatever your circumstances were, sending us post cards from halfway around the world, doing everything within yourself to persuade us to indulge in the things you enjoyed (Cold Stone Ice Cream), and always finding the silver lining to everything. :-D

It makes me tear up every time I read loving words from one of your friends or family members, because it just reminds me of HOW much love you had within you, and how much of yourself you freely shared with all those you loved.

You will remain in our hearts always. x0x0x0x0

We love you!

Thinking of You, My Friend

Dearest Gonzaga,

Thinking of you today.  Cannot believe that it's been 3 years since you left for Heaven.  I miss you!  I had a good cry last night, as I remembered all of the great times we had together.  I was comforted by some adorable photos of you, which truly capture your sweet and loving soul.

A few weeks ago, I was on my computer looking at flights online when I heard this most unusual noise outside my window.  When I peeked through the blinds I saw this most precious little yellow bird (perhaps a wild canary?) whose tiny little foot got stuck in the mesh of the window screen.  When I quickly glanced back at my computer monitor, the Southwest Airlines site had a photo of San Jose, California, and the message said "Discover San Jose."  I immediately looked back at this little bird who was still by the window, and said "Gonzi, is that YOU?"  That little bird looked RIGHT at me for at least a good 10 seconds, and in that instant, I KNEW!!!

Thank you Gonzaga for ALL of the wonderful memories I have of our friendship.  I will forever keep these special moments close to my heart.  May you continue to SOAR with your beloved feather friends, including ALL of the precious Angels in Heaven until we meet again!

Love and Blessings,

Missing My Angel

Dearest Gonzaga,

The precious birds were singing joyously early this morning, and I thought of YOU. As I awoke from my slumber, I was greeted with the most GLORIOUS sunrise, and I thought of YOU.

How nice it would be to pick up the phone right now and tell you how much I miss YOU, and to hear your wonderful laugh again.

I think of YOU each and every day, and I feel SO BLESSED to have had YOU in my life!

Thank you for being my mentor, friend, and most importantly my guardian angel! Until we meet again...

With Much Love,

Christine Lewman

Happy Birthday Gonzaga

Happy Birthday Gonzaga,

I was painting a mural yesterday at Valley Medical Center in the Child Services examination room and I swear I could feel your presence while I was painting. Then I remembered that you were a recreation therapist for many years at VMC and worked directly with abused children at summer camp. If it is possible to get a "visit", I certainly enjoyed your laughing presence as you suggested I use the medical stool with wheels instead of standing. As I spun around the room with my brushes and pallette I thanked you for your great suggestion.

Miss you lot's, but now I know you visit and I can always have a pleasant chat and some practical advice even when I wasn't asking.

love,
Valerie McNeal
